Born in Valleyfield in 1999, Samuel Bégin is a Quebec screenwriter and director. Holder of a combined bachelor's degree in film and psychology from the Université de Montréal, he brings a deep human sensitivity to his approach.
His filmmaking explores memory, nostalgia, and our relationship to time. Faced with the accelerating pace of the world, Samuel conceives of film as a space for pause and introspection, favoring a slow, contemplative aesthetic with spare dialogue. In 2026, he independently wrote and directed the short film Passé, puis... Futur, which was selected at the Festival Plan d'ensemble.
Also active in stage and comedic writing, he pursues a constant desire to connect with audiences and build bridges that bring people together. Through this dual path, Samuel hones a singular, tender, and poetic perspective on the individual and society.
