Spencer Anderson was born in Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. From the age of 8, his mother encouraged his love for the arts by enlisting him on many different art courses, including stop-motion animation, that were free to low income communities. At 15, Spencer decided he wanted to pursue film directing and experimented on various projects. While attending university, Spencer had directed his first short film Super-Being starring friend and collaborator Zachary Coleman which was nominated for Best Production Design at the SOFIA awards. Shortly after, Spencer and Zachary teamed up again for Fallen which gained the attention from renowned film editor Una Ni Dhonghaile. Spencer went on to direct two other short films while studying his MA in Film Production which were April and Line of Sight. After finishing his MA, Spencer was name dropped by Una and received an interview slot with Sir Kenneth Branagh on his next production. 1 week later, he was then hired to be Kenneth Branagh's Researcher for "Belfast" (2021) and was hired again in December of that year for "This England" (2022) and rehired again for "A Haunting In Venice" (2023). In 2022, Spencer went onto direct "Satellites" which won the Best Short Film Award at Toronto. Spencer's 6th short film "Rock-a-bye" was a festival juggernaut and went onto be nominated for Best Drama at the BAFTA qualifying Aesthetica Short Film Festival. His latest short film "As You Wish" is on the festival circuit. He recently directed "Always Double-Knot" which stars Acclaimed Actor Bill Fellows and his son Dylan Reeves-Fellows based on a script by friend and collaborator Dan Abrams. Spencer and Dan have confirmed they intend to use this as a proof of concept and make the feature-length version with both Bill and Dylan returning as their characters. Spencer also plans to make a feature film titled "The Zulu Warrior".
