Simon McQueen (sometimes using the name Simone McQueen) was an English actress who appeared in various TV films in Britain, and then later, America. Born of parents Douglas and Edna McQueen, she began dancing at five years of age. Simon knew she wanted to be an actress, so she adopted the stage name Simon when she was fourteen. At seventeen, Simone went to the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. She went to Australia and New Zealand with the Folies-Bergere as a chorus girl. Later, she went to work for the American Army Special Services in Stuttgart, in a revue called ‘Something for the Birds’. Back in London, Simon was mistress of ceremonies in a television variety series called ‘Jerry’s Inn,’ and in a humorous panel game called ‘Yakketty Yak,’ in which four glamour girls (her included) are asked questions and give answers. She appeared as Mary in the TV series The Adventures of Sir Lancelot (1956). Determined to become more successful, Simon migrated to America, arriving on July 28, 1956. In the late 1950s, McQueen worked as a showgirl at the famous Latin Quarter nightclub in Miami Beach, Florida. She was also a print model in magazines including the cover of Picturegoer (February, 25 1956), a (semi-nude) pictorial in The Dude (July 1958), and the Latin Quarter Lovelies pictorial in Playboy (October 1957). She appeard as herself in the role of Weathercaster in the 1960 American TV series "Report to New York (290 episodes).
