Liliya Timirzyanova is a Tatar filmmaker based between Austria and Greece. Working across fiction, documentary, and essay film, she is drawn to intimate stories shaped by vulnerability, memory, belonging, and the search for meaning in times of personal and political rupture.
Her film, ANIMA, premiered at the El Gouna Film Festival in 2021 and subsequently screened internationally. Her hybrid short PERMANENT CENTER OF GRAVITY premiered at the Venice Film Festival 2025 (Giornate degli Autori) as part of the Laguna Film Lab programme.
In 2025, she co-founded the Vienna-based film collective YOOL, where she is currently developing, writing and producing fiction, documentary, as well as hybrid projects between Austria and Greece.
