Thodoros Adamopoulos

Thodoros Adamopoulos was born in Skleros, Messinia. He studied at the National Film School. He worked at the Greek Film Archive since 1964 and served for a long time as Director of the Archive, while today he holds the position of President of the Foundation's General Assembly. In 1970, he directed, together with Iasonas Giannoulakis, the first Greek television series entitled: "The House with the Phoenix". For his short film "The Wheel" he has received the State Film Award. He has been working in various fields in cinema since 1959. He has been involved in the field of preservation, restoration and dissemination of our national film memory for over fifty years. He is the first specialist in Greece in the scientific restoration and conservation of film. He has also participated in many Greek and international symposia and seminars as a speaker and trainer on the subject of film restoration and conservation and has written many articles in Greek and foreign film magazines related to the restoration, conservation and management of film memory.
